If you want to take in beautiful views along the way you can take Pacific Coast Highway. PCH is not the shortest route but it is the most scenic. Allow for extra travel time if you choose to take PCH. Travel south on PCH from LAX. Make a right on to Balboa Blvd. Take Balboa Blvd south to Palm Street and turn right. This will be the enterance to the all day/multi-day parking lot. The Catalina Island Ferry is accross the street once you have parked your car.

Faster Scenic Route

You can opt for a combination of the direct route and scenic route from LAX to Catalina Island Ferry. Take the 405 freeway south from LAX, merge on to the 710 freeway south, and take the PCH south exit. Travel south on PCH from LAX. Make a right on to Balboa Blvd. Take Balboa Blvd south to Palm Street and turn right. This will be the enterance to the all day/multi-day parking lot. The Catalina Island Ferry is accross the street once you have parked your car. This route will allow you to travel along the beach for half of your trip.
